{Review} Potty Mouth Soap - for those dirty mouths, fun gifts and more!

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Potty Mouth Soap is an all-natural, safe way to help discipline your
kids. What's more, it's fun and effective. This 3.5 oz bar of soap is
specifically designed for stopping that potty mouth. It is made with
all-natural, non-toxic ingredients.

So when your little darling dares to
sass you can feel completely safe when placing Potty Mouth Soap at the
edge of their mouth. And that yucky taste will help nip the lip that
you're so fed up with.

In a recent HighlightsParents.com interview, 87%
of respondents said they felt it was tougher to be a parent today then
when they were a kid. We live in a society where television and peer
influence is flooded with negativity and disrespect. Our culture is
becoming ruder, cruder and more acceptable of kids having a potty mouth.
But that doesn't mean that you have to tolerate it!

Bar Size: 3.5 oz

Naturally Sourced Ingredients: Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Glycerin of
Vegetable Origin, Purified Water, Titanium Dioxide. This makes a great
stocking stuffer or gag gift!

My Review:

Do I have issues with my children sassing or using their mouths for disrespect?  Of course!  Have I ever wanted to put soap in their mouths to "clean" the nasty words?  YEP!  Well, now here is a way to do it while keeping them from those artificial yuckies in most soaps that could (if ingested!) make them a bit queasy to say the least!  And, if you don't have kiddos who sass or use their words in disrespectful ways (what no toddlers? preschoolers? pre-teens? or teens in your house??) - then it makes a fun Gag Gift!

Yes, I personally tasted this soap - I put it in my mouth and actually bit down (not hard - lol) to really get a taste of it - It does not taste Good, but yet is not horrible either - It has a little coconut oil taste with sort of an oatmeal taste yet a little bitter at the same time (in my opinion).  I have a son who will turn 13 this summer - he has always been "strong willed" and determined to get the last word, upper hand, or do what HE wants - or at least not do what his parents say unless it is his idea - and he has NO problem letting us know when he disagrees with anything we say.  That is the nice way I have of saying he can be very disrespectful and hurtful with his words.  So, am I tempted to use this soap with him? Definitely!  But, just the idea of it has so far gotten a positive response out of him - but don't worry - I plan to keep it handy just in case the Idea quits working!  LOL

Our Review:

My youngest - now age 6 loved watching VOL 1's short episodes.  She loves a variety of types of shows and this one did not disappoint.  I, myself, have not seen them ever on TV but thought they were fun, funny at times and entertaining little videos that are appropriate for preschool and early grade school aged children.  My middle child - age 9, watched one or two episodes with her sister, then went off to do her own thing.  She said "I like it but I don't love it.  It is fun to watch but I think I'm getting too old for these types of shows Mom!" - So although adorable and fun, probably not meant for over age 8 - better for the younger viewers.  Clean, family friendly - Mouse and Mole are best friends and have fun little adventures together.

{Review} Jewelry in Candles from Candle Pizzaz

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Many have how heard of the wonderful candles and wax melts that can be purchased that have a little hidden piece of jewelry inside.  Well, here is one that I personally was sent for this review and my sample of the fragrance "Love Potion" was pretty nice.  And before you ask, No, I did not get a valuable piece of jewelry inside, but I did get a pretty pair of earrings, that unfortunately neither my daughter nor I can wear since we

have sensitive ears.  But the candle wax melts do smell nice.

CandlePizzaz.com has a nice selection of scents from fruity to sassy.  Something for almost everyone on the list.

I had also been sent a tiny sample size of the "chocolate fudge" scent - no jewelry inside but unfortunately it arrived smashed and unusable.  I also did not care for the scent inside the package, though it may have smelled better when burning but I was not able to do that.

As for my honest opinion, I believe that since they went out of their way to help me make a good review by  sending a full-sized product I would try them by purchasing a full size candle to see what I think.

Righting a wrong

Righting a Wrong by Rachael Anderson

Seven years ago, Cambri Blaine fled her small hometown of Bridger, Colorado after her senior year ended in a fiasco. Only Jace Sutton knew the real reason why—that she was a spineless coward. Now, seven years later, her father's been in an accident and needs help, and Cambr has no choice but to return home. So with trepidation, she takes a leave of absence from the landscape architecture firm where she works and boards a plane, hoping against hope that Jace is no longer around and that the past can stay where it belongs—in the past.

If only life worked that way.

Jace never expected to see Cambri again. After she’d led him on, bruised his heart, and left town without a backward glance, he was forced to pick up the pieces and try not to hate her for it. Eventually, he put it behind him and moved on, creating a life for

himself in his beloved hometown. But now that Cambri is back and looking more beautiful and sophisticated than ever, some of those old feelings resurface, and Jake instinctively knows, for the sake of his heart, that he needs to avoid her at all costs.

If only it were that easy.

Understanding Jesus Cultural Insights Review

Understanding Jesus

Cultural Insights into the Words and Deeds of Christ by Joe Amaral

Modern-day Christians often bring their own presuppositions and assumptions to the reading of the Bible, not realizing how deeply their understanding of Christ's life and teachings is affected by a 21st-century worldview. In UNDERSTANDING JESUS, author Joe Amaral delves deep into Jewish history, societal mores, and cultural traditions, closing the gap created by geographical distance and over two thousand years of history. Using a chronological approach to the life of Christ, he guides the reader through significant events such as Jesus' birth, baptism, and crucifixion, pointing out illuminating details that that the Western mind would normally miss.

Amaral's premise is that

to understand Jesus, we must understand the time and place in which he was born, the background from which he drew his illustrations, and the audience he spoke to. Throughout the book he explores specific terms, places, and events for their significance and shows how they add richness and meaning to the text. Topics include the connection between Jesus and John the Baptist, the annual Feasts and why they are important to modern Christianity, Jewish customs such as foot-washing, clean and unclean foods, paying tribute to political governments, and the significance of various miracles.

In UNDERSTANDING JESUS, Amaral draws back the curtain on a way of life that existed during the reign of the Caesars, and in doing so, reveals truths about the way we live more than two thousand years later, half a world away.

My review: I saw Joe Amaral as a guest speaker in my church. When he stepped up and announced he'd be giving a presentation about Jewish feasts and their significance in end times, I prepared myself for a snooze. It was one of those topics you just knew was important, but didn’t want to tackle. But it turned out to be so much more than I bargained for, and when he was done, I was one of the first in line to buy the book! It is an astounding read. I can't begin to figure how much research must have gone into writing this, and he just hands it all to you on a platter! Understanding the cultural times offers enormous insight into the parables, and is a huge help when reading scripture. Things I never understood before suddenly became crystal clear when explained in the context of biblical times. The book was at no point boring, ‘lagging’ or redundant. It was one of the best books I have ever read. I cannot put into words how much I recommend this!

About the author:

Joe Amaral was born in Portugal on the island of St. Miguel, and immigrated with his family to Toronto, Ontario, when he was two years old. A rebel against Christianity, he credits a youth pastor who "loved me unconditionally" with being a major factor in his conversion and subsequent decision to enter the ministry. He attended Eastern Pentecostal Bible College (now a Master's College and Seminary). In November 2002, he first visited Israel, and learned about the culture from his tour guide, a Messianic Jew. Today, along with his father-in-law, he operates a ministry called Operation Outreach, conducting tours of the Holy Land several times a year and teaching on the Jewish roots of the Christian faith. He resides with his wife, Karen, and family in Ontario.
