Review:

When you don't have time to grab that big bulky electric chopper or no room on the counter top to add more large items, I love grabbing my Briefton Choppers out to use.  They are quick, efficient and easy to use and easy to clean.



I love using it for quick veggie chopping for fresh salsa, raw carrots or potatoes for adding to meals or just chopping onions without burning tearful eyes.  The dual blades are sharp but contained within so no risk of cut fingers.  It is easy enough for a child to use and would be great for someone who struggles with using a knife as it is safe to use and very easy to clean.

The larger 4 cup size also comes with a mixing paddle so it can be used for more than just chopping as the smaller one does.  I love how easy they are to store in the cabinets until time to use so I have all the counter space I need.  With limited counter space it is great to have a smaller chopper that doesn't take up a lot of space.  I can see the Briefton choppers for singles or couples in apartments, elderly or disabled, or a busy family like mine!

Review:

The Ephistica Infusion Bottle is much classier than I expected.  It looks much nicer than many of the plastic type drink containers on the market.  The double walled glass is thick and keeps cold drinks cold and hot drinks hot without causing discomfort to the person holding it.  The stainless basket insert makes it easy to add fruits, veggies or other ingredients to a drink without drinking the seeds and floaty bits.  It strains well and stays in place.  The bamboo lid seals completely and there are no leaks.



My favorite drink while using this fun and stylish Infusion bottle is water with fresh strawberries and pineapple with a bit of Splenda or Drink mix added for sweetness.  My only complaint is that it only holds 12 oz of liquid/solids so I had to refill the water and sweetener frequently.

Another great feature to this unique bottle is that it is easy to clean.  The main glass chamber and basket are dishwasher safe so clean up is a breeze.  It can also be used for hot beverages like flavored teas or coffee so friends or family can use it when they visit! Review:

With my son in Boy Scouts and my husband and son both camping a LOT, we have started being more aware of emergency supplies that are necessary to have on hand for different outdoor scenarios.  Between disaster planning, emergency supplies and first aid supplies, we are frequently looking for good quality products to  have for scout outings and family emergency needs.



Now, we are not true "preppers" yet, but are working towards trying out and acquiring items needed to keep our family healthy and safe during nearly any situation.



Clean drinking water is one of the top 4 Necessities of life.  Being in emergency situations or on a camp out or hike, running out of clean water can be life threatening.  Having a safe, quick option to get clean drinking water is a must - plus it must be lightweight enough to carry in a hiking backpack.

With this Survival Water Filter, we have a lightweight, easy to pack/carry filter that will clean up to  nearly 400 gallons of water with each filter.  I am amazed by how well it works.

Since it did not arrive before my son left for Scout Summer Camp, I had to try it out in a unique way.  I took fresh dirt from a potted plant and stirred it into clean bottled drinking water.  I then used the filter to "drink" from that dirty water - since I needed to prove it was clean - I spit out the water into another glass so I could see and take a photo of the water after it had been through the filter.

Review:

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the recipes in Straight Up Tasty by Adam Richman are not all filled with strange ingredients and unheard of, or unlikable ingredients.  Although there are some recipes that I would not try or use all listed ingredients, there are a few that sound and look yummy enough even for my family's picky appetites.  



A few that really caught my interest are:

* Pg 28 ~ Tortilla Soup with Guacamole Wantons (not something I would have thought of making myself but sounds and looks very tasty!)

* Pg 35 ~ Creamy Tomato Soup with Grilled Cheese Sandwich Dumplings (my girls thought this sounded and looked good!)

* Pg 87 ~ Grilled Shrimp Tacos with Honeydew Sriracha Salsa (now this one I would change up a bit - the tacos are great but not so much the salsa - so I would alter the recipe a bit)

* Pg 151 ~ Spaghetti Pie (now this is funny - I actually already make a version of this that my family loves - must have stolen MY recipe - LOL)



Now, I must say that compared to other cookbooks I have reviewed this one has a photo for at least 75% of the recipes.  That is a huge plus for me.  I like to see what the dish is meant to look like as well as have the recipe on hand.  I am personally not a fan of a cookbook or recipe without a photo, so this book does cover that qualification for me.  I also expect to have recipes that are realistic for the average American family - not include half of the ingredients that must be found in specialty food stores.  Overall I like this cookbook and will be fixing a few of the recipes within it for myself and my family.

I must admit that I was skeptical about using the GrowVeg Garden Planning tool for my gardening this year, and often do not utilize organizational programs as I should.  With GrowVeg I was pleasantly surprised by how easy to use it is and how much more organized my gardening has become.

But I wasn't sure it worth continuing to pay for.  As I continued to use it this year for the first time I'm finding that in the long run it is a great program and has great potential for the years to come.  It is easy to use, has step by step guides, map and draw features for all shape and size garden areas, lots and lots of tools and features to aid in planning, planting, growning and rotating crops each year.

I must say that I will keep using this program to get the most out of my gardening and keep it easy to do, reminders of when to plant, water and feed as well as finding the best plants for each garden area each year.  From beginner to pro, GrowVeg is a great tool for any gardener regardless of experience level!

Review:

I love using nonstick pans for cooking but often have problems with finding quality utensils to use that won't scratch the surface off or melt when I'm cooking.  Trying out these Vivree Kitchen Tongs set for this review was a wonderful experience.  Strong, quality tongs that don't scratch my pans or easily burn/melt when used.

I love the durable silicone grips that make it so easy to pick up or turn food without slipping out.  The handle are so much softer and more comfortable than other tongs I've tried that I have not used my cheap tongs at all since these arrived in my home.

  The pull-ring open and close feature is wonderful and so easy to use.  Makes them easy to store as well as easy to open an use.  I highly recommend these Vivree Tongs for everyday cooking, you don't have to be a master chef to enjoy using these wonderful kitchen utensils!
