My Thoughts - not only are they surprisingly comfortable, but fun to wear as well.  I say surprisingly comfortable because I usually cannot wear the usual thin rubbery type flip flops - you know the ones that have thin straps?  they hurt my poor toes.  But with Musewear Flip Flops I have never had a problem.  Musewear also ships daily and shipping is FREE!  Seriously - FREE shipping! 



They are very comfortable between my toes as well as very cushiony.  (Yes, that is a made up word.)  They are not very thick so I did not expect to have much cushion or support but they are made of some type of material (soft brazilian rubber) that is much softer and nicer to wear than the cheap made ones in the stores.  They seem to be made to last and to wear well.  And, what better way to support charity and save the enviroment than to wear eco-friendly, recyclable flip flops from a company that donates a portion of every sale to charity!  Can't go wrong with Musewear Flip Flops!

Bad Business Practices at Tyler's Coffee ~ My Ranting Review #lovez2read

I was supposed to be reviewing Tyler's USDA Organic Acid Free Coffee - they claim that since "Courtney Sixx, wife of Motley Crue rocker Nikki, LOVES our coffee. You should too"



Well, I completely disagree.  First off, I cannot give ANY type of review when the company fails to even

send out the promised product.  Second, when contacted repeatedly, they have never replied to any emails letting them know my product was never received.  And finally, just because they claim that some celebrity or celebrity spouse likes something doesn't mean it is true and surely doesn't mean I have to like it as well.  Not everyone has the same tastes and many of those celebrities we see on infomercials and commercials are paid to say they like a product whether or not it is true.



Positives?  Well, it would have been great if the product had arrived as stated since it is Acid Free and that is very important to not only myself but several of my family and friends.  We would have enjoyed sampling Acid Free coffee to see if it is truly better and easier on sensitive stomaches - but alas, we could not!



Anyway, my personal review of Tyler's Coffees:

Since I never received my sample, even after leaving 5 messages to the company, I would have to tell my readers honestly to stay away from Tyler's Coffees and not risk your money on a company that has no customer or reviewer consideration.

My Review:

What a wonderful invention - finally someone came up with a fun and fanciful way to utilize stuffed animals to make kiddos smile while still having my hands free to use the camera!  My only complaint? - well, the adorable monkey covers my pop-up camera flash so I can only use it in bright light areas.  No low light or situations that require a flash because Chimpy (yep we named her) covers up my flash and the photos didn't turn out well.



Otherwise - Chimpy is adorable and she had a light up feature too.  Pressing her paw turns on flashing lights in all her paws and her ears.  It is cute but not necessary for my kids.  Just a fun feature for the older ones but an attention getter for younger children!

I can definitely see this cute camera toy being used by parents and up and coming photographers to aid in getting the attention of younger children for photo shoots and everyday photo fun.  I found this to be a great idea, and something that I believe is great for mostly outdoor photos or well-lit areas not requiring a flash.

Review:

We love it!  It is such a fun game that the whole family or a group of kids can play together and have fun thinking, laughing and having a blast.  All you need is some fresh batteries, a group of people (at least 2) and quick thinking to start an afternoon or evening of fun and laughter playing Tapple.

Start by pressing the timer, make sure to have a word in mind that fits the "theme" on the card, then GO - each person has only a few seconds to tap the letter of their choice from what is left available, say the word that fits the theme and pass the timer on to the next player - make sure to say it out loud before the timer goes off or you are out!

My girls love this game - even the youngest who is only 6 can play - we just make sure to add a little more time or coach her to think ahead and plan her word - such fun!  A random theme is chosen - for example "In the Zoo" or "Around the House" - then each player must quickly think of a word that fits that theme before time is up - tap the letter it starts with - say the word "Aligator" or "Stove" out loud and pass on the timer to the next person.  Each letter word used, means another letter is out for the next person - it gets harder and harder when the main letters are all taken!

A great game for ages 8 and up - or as I stated even younger can play with a bit of adult help.  A wonderful way to get children's minds working and still have fun too.

My Review:

I have previously used a Dead Sea Mud Mask that I absolutely love, so when offered the chance to review another company's Dead Sea Mud Mask, I was thrilled!  When I ordered the PURE & Essential Minerals' Organic Dead Sea Mud Mask from Amazon.com, it arrived quickly - thanks to my Prime Membership, in bubble wrapped packaging.  Packaged well to keep it safe during delivery is important as I have had other books and products arrive damaged when not packaged well.



Then, I went to open the Mud Mask to see what it looks like, smells like and feels like.  I was a bit shocked to find it looks wet and slimy and feels wet and slimy.  Not at all what I was expecting.  And it smells like minty mud.  Hmm, well it is a mud mask, so I guess the mud smell shouldn't surprise me, but it did.

I was reluctant to put it on my skin, yet I did - after all, I do give honest reviews so I had to actually use the product to review it.



It felt wet and slimy going on, but quickly started feeling cool and "normal" as a mask should.  I left it on for about 5 minutes then cleaned it off my face.  My children were concerned that I had put it on because they didn't like the smell or look of it either.  It did do it's job of cleansing and making my skin feel clean and smooth.  I guess being all natural and organic can sometimes mean you get the Real thing, no artificial colors, or scents to make it look or feel better.  Once I got past the initial look and feel of the product I can honestly say that it truly does a great job as a mineral mud mask.



Maybe it was just shook up in shipping but it does not look as creamy and nice and the photo shows in MY jar! LOL

designs make them an interesting accessory. I washed them in the machine but
hung them to dry. They kept their shape well. You do have to work to get them on
as they fit snug.

freckles named Terry, yet everybody calls him Terry Treetop because he
loves climbing trees.  One day he finds an egg that is not in a next, but on the ground.



The story tells of his adventures while trying to find who the egg belongs to.  As Terry Treetop meets different animals in each of their habitats, children learn a bit more about some of their favorite animals and where they live.

This ebook is fun and full of colorful illustrations that bring the story to life on each and every page.  Although not well written for those who have English as a first language, the story is fun and one that some children will enjoy. Parents may have some issues with the, at times weird, rhyming and occasional tedious wording.  But otherwise the ebook was very well illustrated and would be best for very young children.  Written for pre-readers and beginner readers to enjoy, Terry Treetop and the Lost Egg will entertain little ones over and over with his fun adventures.

{Book Tour & #Review} Six Million Accusers: Catching Adolf Eichmann by D. Lawrence-Young

"Six Million Accusers" is a historical novel reliving the hunt for, and capture of one of history's most evil criminals - a leading Nazi named Adolf Eichmann. Having disappeared after WWII, members of an Israeli organization search the world for Eichmann, hoping to one day capture one of the men responsible for brutally massacring millions of Jews, and others. 



Following any tip possible, eventually they

discover a Jewish father and daughter who swear Eichmann quietly lives in their community, under a new name. The search for Eichmann ramps up, and the agents begin to fervently believe they have found their man. 



As they get closer and closer, a plan must also be created to capture Eichmann, and secretly transport the villain back to Israel. Is it really Eichmann? And if so, what complications may arise that might destroy their plans to have this notorious Nazi held responsible for his crimes? 

An Interview with Haim A, one of the team who
tracked down and captured the top Nazi, Adolf Eichmann.

First of all, tell us something about your life that isn’t
mentioned in “Six Million Accusers.”

Well, most of
my life story is mentioned at the beginning of the novel: how I came to
Palestine as a young boy; joined an underground movement; fought in the Second
World War and met my future wife. I also described what I did during the
Israeli War of Independence and how I joined the Mossad. What I didn’t
include was my love of sport. I love playing football and basketball. I try and
play these games when I’m at home and I’m a part-time member of my kibbutz
basket-ball team. I enjoy these games, especially as playing them gives me a
chance to mix even more with my fellow-kibbutz members.

How has Israel changed since when you first arrived there?

When I first
arrived, Israel, then called Mandatory Palestine was a very simple, even
primitive country by European standards. Today it is as modern as any other
Western country. It has also changed politically. At first it was very much the
Socialist-flavored country as envisaged by the Founding Fathers such as
Ben-Gurion. This has changed a great deal over the past forty years. Today its
life-style is very similar to that of the rest of the Western world.

How has being a Mossad agent affected your life?

Being a Mossad
agent has certainly affected my life. The downside is that it has made me become
secretive in many ways and live my life knowing that I cannot share many of my ‘work’
experiences with my wife and family. They have learned to live with me
disappearing from time to time as I go abroad on ‘government business.’ The upside
is that I feel I’ve made a serious contribution to protecting my country from
all sorts of enemies: internal and external. I’ve also enjoyed much of the
foreign travel and have had many ‘work’ experiences which were both exciting
and boring. I’ve worked with many good and bad characters, and these I’d never
have met if I hadn’t been in the Mossad. Naturally, being one of the
team who captured Eichmann was one of the outstanding highlights of my career.

What was your reaction when you first saw Eichmann after you
captured him?

I can sum this
up in two words – a complete anti-climax! First, catching him meant that I’d
accomplished the mission that I had been working on for over two years.
Secondly, the man himself was a boring and bland character. As I say in the
book, it was almost impossible to believe that this very average looking man
who was living in a shabby house in a Buenos Aires slum was one of the most feared
Nazis who had organized the genocide of millions of the European Jewish
community and others just twenty years earlier.

Did you ever seriously question the legality of illegally spiriting
Eichmann out of Argentina and bringing him back to Israel to stand trial?

Never in a
serious manner. I did give it some thought and discussed it with my fellow
team-members. However, in the end I decided that the moral aspect of bringing
him to trial far outweighed the legal niceties of having him tried in Germany
or Austria. And remember this was in 1960, fifteen years after the Second World
War when many people wanted to put the violent past behind them and start anew.

At the end of the book you say that it would have been better to
keep Eichmann in prison for life instead of hanging him. Do you still think
that is true?

Yes, and even
more so today. When I see how Israel has grown and developed as a country, it
would have been a much harsher punishment for him to have spent the rest of his
miserable life living in the middle of the country built by the Jews, the
people he had done his best to completely annihilate. And this is especially
true as he showed absolutely no remorse for the mass-murders he had been
responsible for.

What do you think of “Six Million Accusers” as a title for this
book? After all, it bears no reference to what you did as a member of the Mossad
team.

I think it’s a
very good title. As you know, it’s taken from the Israeli Attorney General,
Gideon Hauser’s opening speech at Eichmann’s trial in Jerusalem. This as you
know was not just a trial to seek out justice but it was one that helped to set
a precedent for future international criminal trials. These included the trial
of Slobodan Milosevic, the Serbian leader who was tried for war crimes over a
dozen years ago, and also the trial of the Chilean dictator, Augusto Pinochet,
who had murdered many of those who’d opposed him during his 25 year reign of
terror. In addition, Eichmann’s trial was also one that was geared for
international and public education. Remember, this was before the days of Internet,
Facebook CNN etc. So having Gideon Hausner open his speech with these words in
front of an international audience via their TV stations present in the
courtroom was very important. 

My Review:

Author D. Lawrence-Young has a wonderful gift for writing a well-written, fast paced historical novel. His writing style includes vivid details that fully immerse the reader into the world he creates, and a depth to his characters that puts the reader right in the midst of the chaos with them.  



Although this is not my usual preferred genre or style of story, "Six Million Accusers"is written in such a way as to captivate even a reluctant reader of this novel as I was.  I had not previously heard of Adolf Eichmann, and did not have any prior knowledge of his role in the Nazi regime during WWII, but now that I have read most of this book, I now realize the scope of his involvement and the horrible atrocities he was involved in. 



The story is thrilling and quite difficult to put down.  I highly recommend picking up a copy of Six Million Accusers: Catching Adolf Eichmann.

Book review: Changing Fate by Michelle Merrill

All Kate wants is to live. Battling cystic fibrosis is hard enough, dying from it is even harder. When her mom moves them closer to the hospital in the middle of her senior year, Kate’s determined to isolate herself—saving everyone the trouble of befriending a dying girl. It’s a difficult task when cheerful optimist

Giana insists on being Kate’s friend. 

Kate’s resolve falters even more when curly-haired Kyler captivates her with his sweet melodies. As her emotional walls collapse, Kate realizes the people she’s been pushing away may be the ones giving her a reason to live. But it might be too late. 

My review: My fourteen-year-old daughter and I both enjoyed this book. Neither of us really knew anything about Cystic Fibrosis, and it was an eye-opening read detailing the struggles of those affected. Learning about the grueling treatments and precautions sufferers must take makes you feel not only for the main character Kate, but for everyone going through this in real life. I also sincerely hope it will make people rethink their decisions to run around with cold and flu symptoms, with no regard for others who can be quite adversely affected. Overall, a very educational read and a welcome break from the usual high school drama. One more positive thing: half of all proceeds will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
