Public Media Distribution, LLC announced today it is releasing four stories from the popular kids series “Kate & Mim-Mim” on the new DVD“SUPER KATE.” Grab your cape and join Kate, Mim-Mim, and their friends on four fun-filled adventures in Mimiloo. In the story Super Kate, Tack zaps everyone with his supercharger invention giving them super powers – Kate gets super jumping powers and Mim-Mim gets super hearing powers. When Boomer gets into a bouncy predicament because of his super speed, can he be saved?

Additional stories feature Tack creating a superhero suit so he can be the “Mimiloo Superhero,” Boomer enjoying super strength with the help of Tack’s load lightener invention, and Kate and her friends helping a friendly dragon find

its way home.

“SUPER KATE” will be available on DVD August 8, 2017. The DVD run time is approximately 45 minutes and its SRP is $6.99. The stories included on this DVD are below. Episodes of “Kate & Mim-Mim” are also available for digital download.

“Super Kate”

When Kate can’t jump high enough to retrieve a ball stuck in a tree, she wonders what it would be like to have superpowers. In Mimiloo, Tack’s new Supercharger invention gives everyone superpowers! But their new abilities aren’t enough to get Boomer out of a bouncy predicament.

“Boomer’s Blanky”

Kate can’t find her cape to become Super Kate and rescue a stranded balloon! Boomer is enjoying superpowers of his own in Mimiloo – Tack’s new Load Lightener invention has made Boomer’s blanky superpowered, so while Boomer wears it as a cape, he can lift anything and anyone as if they were light as a feather! But when Boomer’s blanky flies away, Boomer thinks he’ll never be super again. It’s up to his friends to find his blanky and bring a smile back to Boomer’s face.

“Secret Superhero”

Dad saves Kate’s ice cream from falling just like a superhero! In Mimiloo, Tack is feeling down about his little muscles while trying to fix the clubhouse…until Boomer mistakes him for a superhero behind all his gadgets and welding mask! Tack tries to secretly live up to the reputation of “Mimiloo Man,” but being a superhero is a lonely job, and Kate and her friends miss having Tack around.

“Kate’s Dragon Quest”

Moths are spoiling an outdoor dinner for Kate and her parents. In Mimiloo, all of Kate’s friends are hiding from a dragon that’s after Gobble’s moon flowers! But when the dragon turns out to be more friendly than fearsome, Kate leads her friends on a quest to help the dragon find its way home.

Inspired by a real life little girl, “Kate & Mim-Mim” follows the fantastical adventures of 5-year-old Kate, who, together with her toy rabbit Mim-Mim, travels to the fantasy world of Mimiloo where Mim-Mim comes alive as a larger-than-life playmate. Review:

Galaxy Buck: Mission to Sector 9 is a special DVD video for kids that teaches a powerful lesson about trusting God with everything.  Buck Denver and his crew are not the typical VeggieTales animated characters I have come to love from Phil Vischer and the VeggieTales creators but instead are puppet like characters.  I must say that I personally love the VT style animation and was not as thrilled with the puppet characters in this particular video.

My girls did seem to like the movie and the lesson it tells, but they also said they missed Bob the Tomato and would have preferred either Bob and Larry type characters or even 3-2-1 Penguins.  Overall it is a great story of Faith and Trust and many children will enjoy watching, it just would have been better in my personal opinion with the typical VT style animation my family has grown to love.

Review:

Ok, I admit.  I am a Nancy Drew FANatic.  I read nearly all of her adventures in my youth, some as an adult and I have played (repeatedly) almost ALL of the PC games!  I watch for the new ones and try to get them whenever I can.  Although I don't have the time to play as often as I would like, I do play frequently and get a bit aggravated if interrupted during a game.



When offered the chance to review (play for hours) the newest game out - I was hesitant. . . no, to be honest I believe I nearly begged for the chance but that is beside the point.  I love the games and often play them over and over.  I am not great at the Senior mode even with repeated play so I still play in Junior with the extra hints and helps.  



In Nancy Drew: Sea of Darkness I once again began my adventure in Junior mode and fought valiantly through each puzzle along the way.  With frequent distractions I have not yet made it to the end but have made it to what I would consider about half way through the game play so far.  I love the mini puzzles and will sometimes go back and play them over and over when stuck during the game or even when finished with the full game play.  



I love that with every Nancy Drew pc title that Her Interactive puts out I never get bored.  As I previously said, I have played nearly all of the games and every one brings new puzzles, new challenges, new exciting characters and more great adventure.  This newest installment does not disappoint.  With intriguing characters and edge of my computer seat action, I am kept interested and still guessing "who done it" through most of the game.



I highly recommend Nancy Drew: Sea of Darkness to all PC gamers, mystery lovers and those who enjoy a challenge that keeps you on your toes and coming back for more!

If you like documentaries on Biblical themes or have been curious about the questions surrounding Noah and his Ark, then this would be an interesting film for you to view.  I personally am not a big fan of documentaries but found myself engaged by the technology used to search Mt Ararat for Noah's Ark.  It was not would I would call "fun" but more of an intriguing film to watch.  Find out more online at: http://www.findingnoah.com/

Review:

What a fun show!  Our family have loved VeggieTales for over 13 years and still find them completely fascinating and wonderful.  All three of my kids (and yes, even me too) could not take our eyes off this show.  My kids have watched it over and over so many times I think they nearly have it memorized and I've only managed to watch half and can't wait to sneak it away from the kiddos long enough to actually watch the whole thing!



VeggieTales is always a family favorite with clean, family friendly shows, fun and humorous animated characters and honest moral stories that teach young ones how to be their best, do their best, be honest, kind, and a good friend, and to show God's love to others even when it is difficult.



Beauty and the Beet is a VeggieTales version of the classic "Beauty and the Beast" story.  It is told in such a way that children of all ages can relate to how aggravating difficult people can be and how easy it is to treat them badly in return.  This movie shows how even the meanest person can be affected in a positive way by showing God's unconditional love even when it is hard.



With beautiful music, wonderful vibrant animations, fun and funny characters and of course a new silly song with Larry about Mac N Cheese that my kids won't quit singing . . . this movie is one of our new favorites.  As a blogger, a Mom, an advocate for good clean family fun, and a VeggieTales lover; I highly recommend this DVD.  It would make a wonderful gift for the upcoming holiday season, or an early gift that the whole family can watch together over the Holidays!

My Review:

What a wonderful way to share my favorite children's book from my youth with my kids!  I love that Boxcar Children is now an animated movie that my children and I all love and can watch together over and over. Since viewing this DVD, my older daughter - age 9, and myself have both re-read the first book in the series again to refresh our memories and have watched this DVD together several times.  It sticks right along with the story I loved as a child and remains one of my favorite series for children to read!

Another fun set of DVDs, book and CD for children to enjoy.  2 DVDs full of scenes of firetrucks and firefighters in action is one that most young boys (and some girls) will absolutely love.  An audio CD with sing along songs, a huge book full of Firetruck pictures.  Hours and Hours of firetruck fun.  Just to clarify, this is not a movie, not a documentary but DVDs of different fire trucks over and over.  It is something that those who love the trucks, the firefighters and the action will enjoy watching.  Fun for classrooms, home, grandparents, or watching on the go.

and crippling insecurity born of his childhood. A lover of Jesus and a rebel in the church, Rich refused to let his struggles with his own darkness tear him away from a God he was determined to love. As he struggled with success in Nashville and depression in Wichita, Rich desired most of all to live a life of honest and reckless faith amidst a culture of religion and conformity.

Singer and songwriter Richard Wayne “Rich” Mullins was best known for his worship song “Awesome God” which has been embraced as modern classics by many Christians. His music has been covered by many artists, including Caedmon’s Call, Amy Grant, Jars of Clay, Michael W. Smith, Third Day, John Tesh, and Hillsong United. Mullins’ musical career formally began with Zion Ministries in the late 1970s, where he wrote music and performed with a band called Zion. Mullins first solo hit, “Awesome God,” appeared on his third album and brought his music to a wider audience. Rich Mullins was inducted into the Hall of Fame by the Gospel Music Association (GMA) on April 29, 2014.

My Review:

What a wonderful idea! Rich Mullins is such a wonderfully talented artist with songs that have captured my heart and the hearts of many of my family and friends as well. With songs that uplift and entertain, Rich Mullins has become a family favorite in many Christian and even Non-Christian homes.

This DVD showcases his background and his desire to share his Love of God with the world. It is an inspiring film and one that many will love! I don't recommend this for younger children as there is a part where Rich Mullins is shirtless and times when he is smoking. Great for older kids and adult fans.

Mother & Son Review:

We both understood from the description that we would be watching DVDs of "Lots and Lots of Trains" but failed to fully understand just what that means until we began watching the first of the 3 DVD set.  Yes, there ARE LOTS and LOTS of Trains, and more trains, and even more trains.  But, that is ALL there is.  No talking, no narration, no descriptions of what the train is, the name or type of train or anything else except a bit of "theme" music.  

My 12 almost 13 year old son LOVES trains.  He recently went on a trip to the Train Museum with his Boy Scout Troop (he had also been there when he was only 4 to see Thomas!) and loved getting to learn about different trains and even ride a few of them!  So, when we sat down together to watch, he figured he would get even more information on the different types of trains - how they run - what they are called - when they were made - what they transport and such.  But, sadly was very disappointed.

These DVDs are Great for just watching a HUGE variety (couldn't tell you which ones) of trains go by on the TV screen - but not so great for information or learning about trains.

We both talked about what we would "say" for this review and agree that these DVDs would be wonderful for waiting rooms, preschool children, or just to have on in the background to occasionally look up and see a fun train go by.  But, not for anyone who really wants to truly LEARN more about Trains.

So, overall - Great DVD collection for what it is - an entertaining LOOK at a Lot of Trains, but not recommended for anything other than entertainment
