My daughter and I have just begun our journey.  We started with the first lesson, and decided that although we enjoyed our time together, we wanted to wait and invite our best friends (another Mother-Daughter team) to join us on a weekend journey.  So, we are waiting to complete our Kit until we can set up a weekend together with them.  Already we are excited about the time we have and will spend together discussing purity, Christian morals and strengthening our Mother-Daughter bond.  I hope to plan another weekend shortly after for my husband and son to do this Kit even though our son and I have discussed some of the issues dealt with in the Passport2Purity (P2P) materials.

From what I have already read, listened to and experienced; I HIGHLY recommend the Passport2Purity Getaway Kit for any parents or grandparents of children ages 10 - 18.  It is a wonderful guide that opens the lines of communication and truly brings the parent and child closer together to fight for our kids' innocence and moral integrity!

 It is hard for me to believe that my two oldest (ages 8 and 5 in this photo) are going to be 14 and 11 this summer.  Their childlike innocence has slowly been corrupted by the world's views on sex, relationships, parenting, etc.  With the P2P materials, I hope to stop the corruption in it's damaging path and restore their wonder and the strong parent/child relationships that will help them continue to grow in Grace, Purity and Faith in spite of what is yet to come in the next several years.

Once these two have completed the Passport 2 Purity series, I have another little one to take on the same journey in just a few short years.  Where once she was Mommy's little helper . . . .

She is now a rambunctious 7 year old who has already experienced bullying, ridicule, and other problematic issues with peers at school.

Passport2Purity from FamilyLife is a good start for our preteens, but it is up to us as parents to continue teaching Christian morals and reinforcing our parent/child relationship with our kids.

Splash Math Grades 1 through 5 APP Review - From Mommy's Perspective

Splash Math – Grades 1 – 5  app was created with kids and teachers in mind.  They integrate the Common Core Standards with a fun and visual way to practice those crucial math skills. 

Splash math covers over 300 math concepts that range from first grade up through fifth grade.  You must create a parent account to play the app.  Once you have done that, then you can create

individual profiles for up to 2 children.  These profiles are customizable to your child’s level and allow you to track each child’s progress individually.  



As your child plays each game their progress is charted and tracked and in the Parent’s Section you can see the data for that child.  They give you an “Overall Performance” score as well as graphs that break down their scores by topic and show you whether your child’s performance is improving over time.

The games are easy to play and the questions have multiple choice answers. One adorable feature is the cute little hippo that pops up in the corner to let them know if they have answered correctly.  If they have, then he gives them a sweet comment such as, “Well Done” or “Awesome”.  If they answer incorrectly, then the correct answer appears at the bottom of the screen and shows the child why their answer was wrong.  There is also a virtual “scratch pad” where kids can use their finger to write out the problem right on the screen if they can’t do the work in their heads.

This is a very comprehensive app that includes almost every possible math concept your child will encounter in elementary school.  I was impressed with the Parent’s Section and how well they track the performance of each child so that I can know what areas may need some extra attention. 

My main two complaints with this app is that first, you can only create accounts for 3 children with the app. For families like mine with more than two children in elementary school it would be better if it allowed more profiles for families with more than 3 children.  And second, the price is quite expensive. Most families can't pay $99 for a single program.

Overall Splash Math - Grades 1-5 is a great program that helps aid children and parents in learning those critical Common Core Math skills that are oh so important in elementary school.

I must admit that I was skeptical about using the GrowVeg Garden Planning tool for my gardening this year, and often do not utilize organizational programs as I should.  With GrowVeg I was pleasantly surprised by how easy to use it is and how much more organized my gardening has become.

But I wasn't sure it worth continuing to pay for.  As I continued to use it this year for the first time I'm finding that in the long run it is a great program and has great potential for the years to come.  It is easy to use, has step by step guides, map and draw features for all shape and size garden areas, lots and lots of tools and features to aid in planning, planting, growning and rotating crops each year.

I must say that I will keep using this program to get the most out of my gardening and keep it easy to do, reminders of when to plant, water and feed as well as finding the best plants for each garden area each year.  From beginner to pro, GrowVeg is a great tool for any gardener regardless of experience level!

REVIEW:

My kids love putting on temporary tattoos.  Having some that are pretty and geared towards women and kids is fantastic.  As described above, these "tattoos that look real . . ." should be ones that look like realistic tattoos, but I must disagree.  Although they are pretty, nicely designed and definitely sparkly and fun; they do not look like realistic tattoos.  They still look like fake, temporary tattoos.



Look at the photos and judge for yourself if they look "real":

I took one before and after photo of the tattoos I put on my ankle.  Please ignore all the freckles, they aren't very photogenic - lol.

I love the cute designs and fun patterns, although the length of the designs leaves a little too much room - I would prefer one that could completely wrap my ankle but have not yet found any temporary tattoos that are long enough.



In this instance I just added a second tattoo to fill in the space left over from the single wrap.  I think it turned out cute.

My girls and even my Mom got in on the Tattooing fun!  Look at all that fun STYLE!

FINAL OPINION:

Fun product, similar to other temporary tattoos in how to apply and quality (a few minor issues with pieces coming off or not sticking properly).  Price is a bit expensive in my opinion.  I would not pay nearly $13 for these personally.  I do not feel that the claim of "look like real tattoos" should be included as they do not look realistic.  They do look a lot like jewelry when applied, and make a fun statement.

I did have quite a hard time removing them.  After just a day or two they started to flake off, the remaining portion was very hard to get off even with nail polish remover.

Overall they are fun and we do like the unique designs and size of many of the choices!

Review:

I love using nonstick pans for cooking but often have problems with finding quality utensils to use that won't scratch the surface off or melt when I'm cooking.  Trying out these Vivree Kitchen Tongs set for this review was a wonderful experience.  Strong, quality tongs that don't scratch my pans or easily burn/melt when used.

I love the durable silicone grips that make it so easy to pick up or turn food without slipping out.  The handle are so much softer and more comfortable than other tongs I've tried that I have not used my cheap tongs at all since these arrived in my home.

  The pull-ring open and close feature is wonderful and so easy to use.  Makes them easy to store as well as easy to open an use.  I highly recommend these Vivree Tongs for everyday cooking, you don't have to be a master chef to enjoy using these wonderful kitchen utensils!
