Marcia Lynn McClure strikes again ~ A Bargained-For Bride book tour & giveaway

A Bargained-For Bride by Marcia Lynn McClure (Novella)

Excerpt

a bargained“You’re the sweetest girl in Mourning Dove Creek, you know?” Jack mumbled as he paused in kissing Jilly a moment.

Jilly smiled. “And you’re the handsomest man in Mourning Dove Creek, you know,” she flirted in return.

Jack smiled. “I do know,” he said.

Jilly giggled. Jack Taylor was so predictable—and a little conceited.
He really did think he was the handsomest man in Mourning Dove—and he
was, for the most part.

Secretly, however, if Jilly ever allowed herself to be completely
honest about it (which she tried to avoid), there was one other man in
Mourning Dove who always crossed her mind when the subject of the
handsomest man in town arose. Yet there was no lingering on thinking of
that man—no sirree! Not for a moment! Not for any reason—ever. And so
Jilly just kept telling Jack that he was the handsomest man in Mourning
Dove Creek. Besides, it was almost true—being that the other man lived
outside of town and not right in town the way Jack did.

School Lunches, Family Travel, Picnics and More with Cool Gear ~ Review & Giveaway on Mom Loves 2 Read

http://www.coolgearinc.com/graphics/Cool_Gear_logo.jpg

Cool Lunches with Cool Gear!

My two older children LOVE to take their lunches to school.  With the new food rules about healthier school lunches, my kids eat at school less and less than they used to.  The 'whole wheat' breads and buns often taste stale to them, and many of the side items are weird and do not taste as the kids think they should.  So sorry "healthier" lunch options, but my kids are not fond of your taste, textures, funny looking broccoli or weird dried apricots and beets for side dishes.

So, with lunchboxes frequently disappearing while left at school by one of my children - no need to mention which one (oldest and only son) . . . we are always on the lookout for inexpensive but fun lunchboxes and ice packs to hold their ever expanding selection of "easy to pack and take to school" foods.

When I saw a review on a fellow mom blogger's blog post, I thought I'd see if Cool Gear would be willing to have me review for them as well.  My kids and I were all absolutely thrilled when they said YES.  So, I had my youngest, who is currently in half-day kindergarten and not yet eating school lunches, help me choose the 'gear' for this review.

She and her sister both love peace signs, hearts, flowers and butterflies - so the lunchbox was an easy choice for her but not so much for me.  Cool Gear has a great selection and I had a hard time choosing. . .  'should I be the good mommy and get one for the kids or get the fun one for Me?!?'

So, I let her choose.  Then I took over and chose these wonderful inventions to add to the set.  They are "stackable snack cups" in three fun sizes.  Perfect for little portions on the go.  The largest one (9.6 fl oz) has a gel inside that is freezable like an icepack.  The middle size one (9.2 fl oz) has a freezer gel lid - then the smallest one (7.6 fl oz) is the perfect size for applesauce or fruit packs.

And finally, we were sent a Cool Gear 24oz Razor Water bottle with a freezer stick that can be inserted to keep drinks cold and fresh.  This one was randomly selected by Cool Gear and my son loves the color.  The girls are ok with it but would have preferred the pink one of course - lol

Well, we are all more than happy with these products and they have already been used quite a few times for school lunches, twice now for on the go snack time, and once for an impromptu backyard picnic with my youngest.  Cool Gear can be purchased at local stores or via their online store at http://shop.coolgearinc.com/

Mary's Little Lamb is worn out ~ Review of Mary Had a Sleepy Sheep on Mom Loves 2 Read

“Young Mary had a little lamb.
His name was Sheppard sheep,
And everywhere that Mary went
That sheep was sure to sleep.”

This
is not your average Mother Goose nursery rhyme. In this hilarious
parody, poor Mary has one very sleepy, slumbering, snoozing sheep named
Sheppard and Mary’s mom is not happy.

Can Mary can keep her sleepy sheep awake?

Young readers will laugh along at Mary’s zany attempts, as she tries
everything from spicy-hot fiestas to water fights. The humor is fast and
fun in this easy to read rhyming adventure.

My Review:

What is poor Mary to do with her Little Lamb.  After following her to school, he is exhausted.  This poor sheep is sleepy and Mary's Mom is not happy about it.

Adorable, fun and entertaining, Mary Had a Sleepy Sheep is another fantastic ebook by author Julia Dweck.  After reading Blucy, my daughter's were thrilled to find that we could review another book by this same author.  Mary Had a Sleepy Sheep is full of wonderful illustrations, imaginative humor and rhyming fun.

All of my children, even my 12 year old son love this story.  They laughed, giggled and pretended to be sleepy sheep throughout each reading of this charming story.  Another highly recommended children's book from an author my children have added to their personal favorites!

Mary Had a Sleepy Sheep can be found on Amazon.com for only $3.19!  Makes a great gift for little ones to read on kindle, ipad, iphone or whatever ereader you have!

Adorableness wrapped in an ebook package ~ Review of Blucy on Mom Loves 2 Read

Who or what is Blucy you ask?  That is a wonderful question . . . Blucy is . . . well . . . a Blue Cat.

Well she didn't start out blue.  A little girl named Mandy goes to the pound to find a new pet.  She sees a cat named Lucy and decides to take her home. Mandy sees that as Lucy's mood changes, so does her fur . . to blue.  Lucy tries to figure out what is making Lucy Blue.

I won't tell you more, you will need to read this absolutely adorable book for yourself.  My children absolutely love Blucy.  My 5 year old actually took off with her sister's kindle and hid in her closet to read Blucy over and over.  This fun rhyming story has wonderful illustrations on each page that really captured my daughter's attention and imagination.  She still talks about Blucy days and even weeks after

reading the story.

Now I have to keep explaining why we can not go out and get her a blue cat like Blucy.

Blucy is FREE today on Amazon.com - not sure how long this will last so don't miss a chance to grab this adorable ebook!

Dweck writes children's stories for digital and traditional
publication. Her stories span the spectrum of humor, fantasy, and
edutainment in rhyme and in prose. Check out her newest eBook, "Blucy," a

are included in this playful adventure.

EXCERPT (From “Little Nani and the Flying
Muffin”).

“I’m bored!”

“How can you say that you are bored when I am reading to you one of
the funniest books I have read in a long time?” said Horse in an exasperated
tone. When Little Nani shrugged her shoulders, Horse had retreated to his
favourite rocking chair in a corner of the room.

“Can I go out and make angels?” asked Little Nani, who was upside
down, standing on her hands.

“Don’t be silly. You can only make angels in the snow, not in the
rain,” said Horse without raising his eyes from the book.

“Can I go out and jump in the pools?” asked Little Nani, who was
hopscotching all over the room.

“If you go out you will get soaking wet, and then you will catch a
bad cold, and then you won’t be able to go out for a long time,” said the
impatient horse. He didn’t like being interrupted while
reading.

“Then I will cast a spell to make the sun come back,” said Little
Nani, trying to take her magic wand out of her pocket while rolling on the
floor. Big Billy, watching her efforts to take her magic wand out, and fearing
that Little Nani could make the rain turn into a tempest, quickly pecked Little
Nani’s hand.

“Ouch!” exclaimed Little Nani. “That hurt!”

She tried once more to take her magic wand from her pocket, but
this time it was Skinny Nikki who pecked Little Nani’s
hand.

“Ouch!” exclaimed Little Nani again.

It was pretty clear by now to Little Nani that she wasn’t going to
have any fun that day. She thought that the rain was boring and, folding her
arms with an angry look, she sat down in a corner.
