Blast off on a new adventure with #GALAXYBUCK Mission to Sector 9 #FLYBY

About the movie:

Buck Denver has a simple dream - to save the galaxy.  Working for the
Galactic Mission Board, Buck dreams of carrying God's love to every corner of
the Milky Way!  Except he doesn't have a starship.  Or a crew.  Or even a
captain's license.  He just needs a chance.  But when that chance comes and Buck
finds himself leading a real mission into deep space, things don't go at ALL
like he imagined!  If he's doing what God wants him to do, why is everything
going wrong?  From VeggieTales® and What's in the Bible? creator Phil
Vischer, Galaxy Buck: Mission to Sector 9 is a wild, galactic adventure
that teaches kids a powerful lesson about trusting God with everything - even
our dreams!

Run time: Approximately 40 minutes

Galaxy Buck: Mission to Sector 9 is a must-see for all ages, from
VeggieTales creator PHIL VISCHER! Kids will enjoy Buck Denver's latest
adventure with his friends from What's In the Bible? and parents will
appreciate the humorous nods to Star Wars and Star Trek.  More
importantly, Phil Vischer's gifted teaching delivers a clear message to kids and
adults about God's love and purpose for our lives.  Galaxy Buck communicates
important Biblical truths that will add to everyone's faith foundation, whether
a life-long Christian or a new creation in Christ.

Review:

Galaxy Buck: Mission to Sector 9 is a special DVD video for kids that teaches a powerful lesson about trusting God with everything.  Buck Denver and his crew are not the typical VeggieTales animated characters I have come to love from Phil Vischer and the VeggieTales creators but instead are puppet like characters.  I must say that I personally love the VT style animation and was not as thrilled with the puppet characters in this particular video.

My girls did seem to like the movie and the lesson it tells, but they also said they missed Bob the Tomato and would have preferred either Bob and Larry type characters or even 3-2-1 Penguins.  Overall it is a great story of Faith and Trust and many children will enjoy watching, it just would have been better in my personal opinion with the typical VT style animation my family has grown to love.

Purify your life with this #glasswaterbottle from Purifyou

IT'S TIME to purify your lifestyle, impact the environment, and change the way you drink water. Glass is 100% recyclable, and doesn't leach harmful chemicals or unwanted flavors into your water like plastic or metal.

With style and portability combined, you just might find yourself taking your 12oz bottle to all sorts of new places. From the yoga mat to

business meetings, your bottle will fit in wherever you want it to. Also great for kids on the go.

The lid is optimized for YOU. With just the right size between a narrow and wide mouth opening, the lid is also quick to twist off and 100% leak-proof.

Our glass bottle is reusable as many times as you'd like, and is entirely BPA free. Plus, it's made from high borosilicate glass, which is more heat resistant than any other commonly used glass. Now you can also save the earth and enjoy your warm tea too.

HELP SAVE THE WORLD just by enjoying your beverage in the comfort of your own home, because with every bottle purchased, a portion of our profits is sent directly to building water wells for impoverished communities in Africa. Each bottle sold separately.

Review:

I have used other glass water bottles and loved them.  The Purifyou glass bottle is just as good as any

other I have tried.  I do love how it has the silicon sleeve that covers the outside of the glass to help prevent slipping and breaking.  Yes, I have dropped it a couple times and it has not broken or chipped at all due to the protection of that silicone on the outside of the glass bottle.

The lid fits tightly and has an easy to use and convenient carry O-ring and fits nearly all of a standard size bottle of water (12oz).  My only complaint is that I would prefer it to be a little taller and hold 12 oz or more of water/liquid plus ice.

Overall it is a great quality glass bottle that is easy to use, great for taking anywhere on the go, sized just right for children and adults.

Review:

When you don't have time to grab that big bulky electric chopper or no room on the counter top to add more large items, I love grabbing my Briefton Choppers out to use.  They are quick, efficient and easy to use and easy to clean.

I love using it for quick veggie chopping for fresh salsa, raw carrots or potatoes for adding to meals or just chopping onions without burning tearful eyes.  The dual blades are sharp but contained within so no risk of cut fingers.  It is easy enough for a child to use and would be great for someone who struggles with using a knife as it is safe to use and very easy to clean.

The larger 4 cup size also comes with a mixing paddle so it can be used for more than just chopping as the smaller one does.  I love how easy they are to store in the cabinets until time to use so I have all the counter space I need.  With limited counter space it is great to have a smaller chopper that doesn't take up a lot of space.  I can see the Briefton choppers for singles or couples in apartments, elderly or disabled, or a busy family like mine!

This mommy blogger highly recommends both the 3 cup and 4 cup size Briefton choppers.  I hope you also will check them out!

Review:

Ok, I admit.  I am a Nancy Drew FANatic.  I read nearly all of her adventures in my youth, some as an adult and I have played (repeatedly) almost ALL of the PC games!  I watch for the new ones and try to get them whenever I can.  Although I don't have the time to play as often as I would like, I do play frequently and get a bit aggravated if interrupted during a game.

When offered the chance to review (play for hours) the newest game out - I was hesitant. . . no, to be honest I believe I nearly begged for the chance but that is beside the point.  I love the games and often play them over and over.  I am not great at the Senior mode even with repeated play so I still play in Junior with the extra hints and helps.

In Nancy Drew: Sea of Darkness I once again began my adventure in Junior mode and fought valiantly through each puzzle along the way.  With frequent distractions I have not yet made it to the end but have made it to what I would consider about half way through the game play so far.  I love the mini puzzles and will sometimes go back and play them over and over when stuck during the game or even when finished with the full game play.

I love that with every Nancy Drew pc title that Her Interactive puts out I never get bored.  As I previously said, I have played nearly all of the games and every one brings new puzzles, new challenges, new exciting characters and more great adventure.  This newest installment does not disappoint.  With intriguing characters and edge of my computer seat action, I am kept interested and still guessing "who done it" through most of the game.

I highly recommend Nancy Drew: Sea of Darkness to all PC gamers, mystery lovers and those who enjoy a challenge that keeps you on your toes and coming back for more!

Making Your Kitchen Environmentally Friendly #guest post

Images by georgiapeachez used under Creative Commons License.

Going green in your kitchen might be a lot easier than you first think. Manufacturers and designers know that eco-friendly appliances are in big demand and there are loads of products out there to fill the market. However, you don't have to spend hundreds of dollars to do your part. Take a look at these simple yet effective tips to achieve a greener home.

Vintage island

If you're thinking of adding an island to the layout of your kitchen, get creative and save some cash. You can find an old table then sand it down, paint it in a favorite color and give it a varnish. Then

you can add some storage fittings underneath if needed. It will give your kitchen some vintage charm and a totally unique look.

Herb garden

We've all bought a herb plant, used it once then watched it shrivel up and die before we next use it. Dedicate a space near the window where you can place a selection of herbs and make reminders to look after and water them. In the long run you will save money, add extra flavor to your meals and brighten up your windowsill.

Can it be repaired?

So the washing machine is quite old and has started playing up? Before taking it to the tip and investing in a new one, ask a professional to take a look at it and see if it can be fixed. Even if it only has a few more months left in it, you'll save on taking up wastage space. When you do dispose of it, make sure you take it to a special recycling park.

Cook smart

Use your microwave when you can in order to save energy used when using your oven. Also cook in batches so that you use the oven once rather than every night. You could make meals that can be eaten cold or heated up quickly in the microwave. Also try to keep your food fresh rather than frozen in order to shorten cooking times.

Built in compost bin

Compost bins utilise food wastage by feeding your garden's soil. You might even want to use it in your green house or vegetable patch. Make one by storing a bin under the worktop and throwing in your food wastage after every meal. Make sure to keep your eye on it and take it out every few days so that you don't get a funny smell!

Buy energy star appliances

When it does come down to buying appliances, look out for the energy stars. Americans save $30 billion by choosing energy star rated products. Although they might initially be more expensive than other models, the end saving is totally worth it.

It's the little things that make a big difference, so remember to try and do your bit with the kitchen. A happy kitchen will make for a happy home and happy cooking! Have fun with it.
